You can't take control of the shutter speed (apart from "long shutter" mode) or aperture on any SD camera (Ixus outside North America). These modes are more typically found in A, S and G series cameras, as well as the DSLRs.

As David said - you don't have direct control over either shutter speed or aperture on the SD models (or the lower-end, up through A560, A-series). The best you can do is put it in Cmaera M and change ISO and/or Exposure Compensation to force a speed or aperture more to your liking (and you're essentially shooting blind even then); you'll be able to see if what you were hoping for is what was used, but you won't know in advance.
