I was at the game on Labor Day when the Pirates beat the Cardinals 11-0. Being a Cardinal fan, it was a disappointing moment. However I did get a few neat pictures.

Here is one where Yadier Molina is hustling to try to break up a double play. He didn't make it in time, but I thought the expression on Freddy Sanchez' face is interesting. I also love the shadow under Yadier as he is running.

These expressions remind me of when I used to follow and see photos of my Idol Ryne Sandberg.

Every photo that was taken of him stepping off second and throwing to first always had just the exact same expression. I used to try and emulate it when I would be playing second and over-express it to my friends when we would screw around.

Don't be too suprized if somehow more photos are taken and that is the exact same expression he makes when doing the same thing.

Funny and interesting things happen when you freeze a moment at 1/500 or 1/1000 of a second and even faster or slower. Things that normally are viewed and ignored in the blink of any eye become interesting and strange.

There is a photo floating around this page that has been taken recently of a surfer. The main photos focus is on the surfer that is doing his normal thing. But what makes the photo so interesting is that in the foreground is another female surfer that has just put their face into the water.

It literally looks like the female surfer is somehow looking for something at the bottom of the place they were at. But once again it's a moment in time that was captured where something interesting is made of something basic.

I like the shadow under Molina, and especially that he has both feet in the air as he's running - another example of the "frozen moment" metalman refers to ^.

As slow as Yadier runs, you wouldn't think he could have both feet in the air at the same time. ;)
