I was at the Cardinals/Pirates game on Labor Day in St. Louis. This picture was taken after Xavier Nady was hit on the helmet with a hard fastball. After a few minutes, he walked off the field under his own power.

That's why they wear helmets......I am sure it hurt, but isn't "Tragedy" just a little over-blown of a description???

Apologies for being misleading by using the word "tragedy." It was a horrific moment to hear the "pop" and see the player fall motionless. Even though he left under his own power, he did leave the game.
