I am so ticked off right now I can't see straight.

I just made a delivery last week of photos that I intended to hand deliver to the ones who ordered them. I was told I could not hand deliver them because they were going to be discussing some issues. So the person in charge asked me to hand over the pictures. The teens by the way saw me hand over these pictures to the person in charge since they were all sitting there. I was told that after the meeting that the pictures would be handed out. I have gotten several phone calls from parents wondering where their pictures are as they all knew I was going to be making the delivery last week. Now most of the pictures have disappeared only about half were located. I have been asked to re-print the pictures which would mean I would be out another $200+. Would you just go ahead and re-print the pictures and write it up as a loss? Wait a week to see if they locate them? Go door to door and deliver pictures all over town? I keep telling myself that I should have just walked away with the pictures in hand...but we do this all the time! Take pictures....deliver them to the school or location and they give them to the appropriate party. Can we not trust anybody anymore?

eeks ......

I think I might inform them that.. they would be wise to look harder for them. And if they absolutely cannot find them.. then a $___.__ (you decide if it's full or half or whatever amount) reprinting charge will be made to the school/location and until that is paid for no prints will be made.

And definitely in the future walk away.. if they try that baloney again!

Too late for this time, but the obvious thing to do is get a receipt!!

For now I would write (dont phone or email) to the person you handed the photos to and explain that they will be responsible for any losses you incur by them losing/misplacing the photos in the first place.

fwiw, we never hand deliver but always use a third party.

Well I did write on my notepad in front of her that I handed the pictures to her at such location and the date and time. She hen-scratched her name on it since she was in a rush to get to the meeting. SO I guess I have that covered. The problem is that between the time I gave them to her and the end of the meeting something happened to my pictures! The kids don't have them obviously or I wouldn't be getting phone calls from parents.
