Hi. I just joined these forums, because I'm thinking about switching over from Pentax. The K10D was just too noisy at 1600 ISO for what I do, and I'm hoping to switch to the 40D.

If my funds wont allow it then definately a 30D. I've always heard good things about Canons Noise control and their fantastic glass.

I hope I like it here.

I'm sure you will - Welcome along! :-)

For High ISO and low noise I don't think you can beat Canon DSLR's - Have a look around here, do a search or two and I'm sure you'll get all the info you need, if not just ask!

Welcome to POTN. I was following your thread on the pentax forum. You will find it much better here.

At least we dont all completely obsess ourselves with rumours of unreleased cameras and lenses like they all do ;)





oh and at least with canon, you will be able to walk into pretty much any camera store and go home with a lens. Gotta love that glass availability :rolleyes::lol:

That is SOOoooo true.


Pentax glass is usually only on the net.
I usually only shop on the net because its
cheaper, but you never really know.



They are all really obsessed with releases.
haha.

I kind of am too to an extent,
but atleast Canon has their full
L-line already out and they release
their stuff on time.

Hit the nail on the head.

Besides, for the price i would be paying for a second hand FA* 80-200 f2.8, i can buy a 70-200 2.8L IS brand new. Only reason the FA* glass is pricey now is because they dont make it any more. Give me new gear any day.
