Have any of you tried out the Fuji developer at Ritz? You can use your media card and/or a cd rom and print out your photos yourself. I edit a lot in photoshop, and the clerk stated it wouldnt override what I changed to the photo.
Any comments if you have used this or something similiar would be helpful. By the way, .35 cents/photo or .24 cents/photo if your are a ritz preferred customer.
Thanks.

Costco uses similar machines and they're cheaper. Wal-Mart also has digital-friendly machines, but they're not as robust. I've only used Costco and the results are very nice.

Needing some extra prints, I brought to a Kodak photo center a CD with 8 10D tiff images which I had post processed with Photoshop CS (levels, curves, unsharp mask) and printed, to my satisfaction, on my Canon i950. Wanting the printed images to look the same, I told the photo center not to make any adjustments. I got back prints that were darker and with a considerable orange cast. Is the problem Kodak or my instructions? Do you have to let them adjust the image to suit their equipment?

The problem is that you need a profile for that particular machine. Ask your processor. Maybe they can help. There are alot of profiles on the web for these machines, including the ones at Costco.

their machine. I DO EVERYTHING thru my Ritz store here. They have helped me turn a dream of photography into a sucessful reality. I've even written their regional managers about what an excellent store and how incredibly helpful their employees are there.

Yah, I work at Ritz in San Francisco, and the quality of our prints usually surpasses that of even the best inkjet printers. Plus we offer matte finish and a white border upon request. I'm not sure but I don't think there are many costcos, or walgreens offering that kind of service. I think the Ritz processing rocks, and it's affordable, but then again... I work there. :)
Also, in case you folks didn't know, ritzpix.com will let you transfer your jpegs to a local Ritz Camera for printing, and pay for your order online. I've heard of people getting their email notice of completion in like 40 mins. Then you just zip on over to the store with your photo ID, or confirmation email, and kablamo! Instant Camera Store Quality prints. CSQ is our little marketing ploy... *sniffle* my manager would be so proud!
Happy shooting everybody.
