This may be a stupid question. After reading everything I can get my hands on regarding pecpads, eclipse and the making of a sensorswab, it seems that the actual implement to affix the pecpad to is the key.

So here is the question (stupid probably). Why not don surgical gloves (without the powder of course) and affix the pecpad to your finger? Seems like you would have plenty, if not more control.

OK. Let me have it!

Because the design of the human finger would not allow edge to edge cleaning and in the corners.

What he said.

One of the things you realize when you do your first "swab", is that these cameras are not really designed to make cleaning easy. At least on the cameras I've cleaned (10D and D60), the sensor is sort of hard to get to, it's deep inside a small compartment of the camera, and there are shallow "ridges" raised up right around the edge of the sensor/AA-filter. One of the hard parts of doing this is getting the edges clean, which really requires "right angles" on the swab.

Did you check out the sensorswipe? That is what I use and for the $8 or whatever it costs, I don't think it can be beat! He also had it to my mailbox in about a week from ordering time.
