Has anyone ever sold photos to magazines like the Enquire?

Not my type of photography personally, but I did watch a feature on those photographers and it seems it is ALL about knowing people for those "hot tips".

I had the chance once but upon legal advice I was advised not to. I had a rather unflattering picture of an internationally known singer. I approached a couple of these magazines and one returned my call. Given the fact on how I obtained the image my lawyer didn't think that it could be deemed editorial content and suggested that I keep my butt out of court. It hurt, alot, to turn that one down.

So basically.... it reallys does pay the megabucks that the advertise for really good gossip pics.

I can say that I had the potential to sell one picture for more than I had ever sold one before.

Keep in mind that there are some very talented (so to speak) paparazzi shooters out there that they use on a regular basis. I would think that you need to have something unique to offer them. I do also strongly suggest that you check with legal counsel if you are going to get into this game.

the papparazi thign seems to be shark filled waters, some are into it I guess, I prefer to keep my fingers out of that pie.

i have sold a few images to 2 major magazines in australia.

the images i sold were on board / the artist knew i was taking the images.

i didnt make much.

about $910 for 5 images.

i was happy with it , its ok money for the odd job.
