They were back in the yard over the weekend constantly. Fly in, grab one piece of seed, fly out...pretty much all weekend long. Wouldn't land on the sticks though, only the feeders, so the composition isn't what it could've been. Comments and advice always welcome, thanks for looking!

Nice shots of these little guys. I now have a number of them here. but I find them hard to shoot here. I don't know what it is, but I have better luck in the woods than right here in my ayrd. Which is just weird. :)

Thank you for the compliment Mitch! I would think it would be quite a challenge to spot these little guys in the woods, I bet it makes for great backgrounds though.
Last weekend the Chickadees seemed to be on a mission. They really didn't seem to care who else was on the feeders or if any people were around, they just kept coming in to take a seed, flying away, then coming back a couple minutes later and repeating the whole thing. I was really hoping they'd either land on one of the sticks or the flowers in the garden (the Goldfinches have discovered our flowers, I don't think there'll be much left of the flowers pretty soon:(). My wife's a big fan of the Chickadees and Goldfinches, so I try to get them no matter what the background. The Cardinals are finally starting to come back (just not when I have the camera handy), they've been no-shows for the last couple weeks...and the ones that are back have all their feathers again too:D

Mine were acting the same way, and about twice as many here as usual. Today I even had a bunch of Titmice invade the yard. They come and go a lot though, some times not showing up for weeks. :)

While living in MN I noticed that birds tend to pile up on the food source before a storm hits. You see them hitting the feeder harder watch the weather for a change.

I like the composition of the second shot. I wonder about one thing though...the background on the right side of that shot looks like noise reduction was used, but not on the left side (you can see where this meets up near the bill).

Could be, they're predicting the hot, humid stuff to get stormy then colder in a day or so. I'll have to pay closer attention to their behavior and the weather.

Thanks, and nice catch. I edited these on an older machine with an older monitor. I didn't even notice the noise until now. I didn't use noise reduction on any of these, but on that one I had to remove another feeder that was in the shot, so the noiseless areas were where the other feeder was. Thanks again for the catch...corrected it now.

Great shots. The ones I see at my feeders are extremely skittish, they dart in, grab a seed and dart off. I've not been able to get a good shot of them.

Nice shots. I do shoot them around the feeders but usually wait until they have a natural background rather than actually on the feeders.
