Strange thing going on with on of my CF cards..... :?
After Formating in my 300D, it still shows 8kb in use?
Tried a full format on my PC, but when back in the camera it still shows 8kb in use...
Is this a sign that the card may fail? Its a Jessops special, so as its only a few months old, I hope they will exchange it!

Also had probs with a second hand 50mm f1.8 from London Camera Exchange. Everything extremley over exposed, and throws up 'error 99'
every few shots. Any ideas................

There is no issue with the card. That is normal.

Sounds like the lens is not stopping down.

Verify this by switching to AV mode and setting a small aperture, eg. f22. Then point the camera towards you so you can look into the lens and press and hold the DOF preview button to check the blades close.

If not, try cleaning the contacts on the lens and on the camera body. If this doesn't fix it, return the lens to LCE.

Cheers
