I think they're very creative and unique.
1. Not sure if I like the "floating" images. This is probably the weakest page here, I still think it's very well done though.
2. I really like this layout. Works great with the little writeup as well.
3. Nice, I like the border on the left image.
4. This is fantastic. Wow. I really like the background here.
5. Not my favorite, but, I think it's still very well done.
All in all, nicely done!

do you think they are too simple?

Absolutely not. No where near it actually ... I think they're just the right combination of simplicity and complexity.

#1. Don't like it at all. Way too busy and the background, because of the motion blur, attracts my attention. The poor 2 little images on the page have no chance to make any impression!
#2. Love it.
#3. The people in the large picture on the right are too dark for my liking. Maybe trying to bring up the shadows?
#4. Love it!
#5. Not fond of the way the text is positioned. It should continue to the bottom of the page or you need to revise your layout.
Your signature quote: like it, but please explain where it comes from! It kind of reminds me of a quote from Futurama, by Fry: "it's like sex, except I'm having it!"

believe it or not that kind of want i wanted, the background is actually the main event, the little ones on the sides are after thoughts. in fact the background image was the photo they were most impressed with.
#5. Not fond of the way the text is positioned. It should continue to the bottom of the page or you need to revise your layout. i was kind of hopeing someone would notice that, i wanted the text to go to the bottom, but if i make the text any bigger, it doesnt look right, an i obviously canīt make the poem longer. so im really unsure how to deal with this one

I would try putting it in a column vs a corner shape like it is right now. Or if you want to keep a similar layout, you could always try to enlarge the picture until it takes enough space so that the text ends up all the way to the bottom of the page... But because of the large "H" in the background, this doesn't give you too much room for play for this option...
I cant see nothing?
That means you see something?

You should do more of your own page designs from now on these look fabulous! I'm not keen on #1...it is really busy and it looks as if you added motion blur or something to the background image.. personally it's not fitting in with the rest of the book i feel.
#2,3,4 are great.. love the simplicity and the mix with page 4.. love that page!
For page 5 would it work if you just mirrored the layout of page 2?
I'd really like to see the other pages you create.. well done

i hate to admit this, but the picture was actually an accident. i was shooting off rapid fire when i decided to go from portrait to landscape.
