i'm looking at purchasing some lenses from some ebay sellers who have very good ratings 400+'s. most are selling new/mint, or at least a month-old lens, w/ box and unfilled warranty card. i saw a tamron lens that i've very interested in. i heard that they carry the 6 year warranty; but do we need a store receipt/invoice along with it to claim the warranty, or not??? TIA.

Canon requires a copy of the original store receipt and Warranty Card for warranty service.

a seller stated this w/ his/her item...
A copy will be shipped if requested by the winning bidder.
is that copy good enough instead of the "original"? TIA

Well, if I had to send a camera/lens away for servicing, I would only send a copy anyway, and keep the original.

I would assume so.
I would not part with the original reciept. I would only send a copy.
