These Sandhill Cranes were feeding next to a construction site. The heavy equipment and dump trucks going buy did not seem to concern them at all!

The second shot is lovely, the feathers look so beautiful. What is that on his beak, some kind of worm or something, from poking in the ground? Do you have more pictures of these cranes?

Some nice shots, They are such beautiful birds, you are very lucky to see them up close and personal like this! :-)

Yes, that is a worm it dug out of the ground. These birds can be found throughout Brevard County Florida, and in fact in many places you will see "Sandhill Crane Crossing" signs put up by the cities.

Beautiful shots. I love the lighting on them. We have them here too, but they are more cautious about letting anyone see them. You can sure hear them though. :)

I have always like Sandhill Cranes. From their guttural calls to the way the migrate and high, ragged flocks.
Great lighting on the second shot. Thanks for sharing.
