2nd Wedding. C&C please.

These pictures are from my second wedding, C&C encouraged.
This wedding was VERY DIFFICULT, First we got bad directions (Mapquest sucks), luckily some motorcycle people with a Garmin unit helped us and led us to the actual wedding. If we didn’t find them we would have to call the people who own the venue.
Anyway long story short, I felt much more like the wedding planner than a photographer. My girlfriend/assistant had to go run around because they didn’t know when to go upstairs and when to do anything. It was really unorganized.
Needless to say, I will be changing my contract from now on stating that I am not a wedding planner, I am a photographer, and if they expect me to do all these things my pictures will suffer.
I am also pretty disappointed at the wedding because I know I could have done a lot better, if I didn’t have to organize everything, and the bride kept doing this weird smirk. I could tell she was self-conscious about her teeth, and it really messed up a lot of pictures.
Oh well it all comes with the territory.

8. Quite cool. Looks like she didn't have much emotion. Shouldn't this be first?

Also, number your photos to make critique easier.

Overall it's an average set, with a couple of standout shots. Wedding photographers do end up as ad-hoc wedding planners, you can't contract out of that, you just have to get used to it. It gets easier with experience, especially if you sit down with them in advance and make sure they have a written day plan. You have to do it whether it's in your contract or not, really. I think you also learned the lesson of always visiting all venues before the wedding day, I always do, and it's saved my ass a few times. I have no problem calling venues for information either.

I agree about being ad-hoc wedding planners, but this wedding really went overboard. Oh well lesson learned.
