Experimenting with RAW

Wanted to try out RAW but was discouraged by file size(s). So, if I may let me do the math and see if the no.’s are correct:

1- Raw file: ~ 6.0 MB
2- Convert to TIFF or PDS: ~ 30-40 MB
3- Convert to JPEG: ~ 2-3 MB
------------------
Total: ~ 38-43 MB per photo


Are these numbers correct, if not, what do you think the right amount should look like.

Note: the camera is 300D

The numbers are correct. The JPEG values can be variable, you can play with compression rates and you can embed or not a color profile when you save it. This will vary the JPEG file size.
