When you feel necessary based on how dirty the sensor is.

Funny thing...It's dirty enoufgh to order the cleaning supplies. Now that I have them, It's got me wondering how bad the sensor is in comparison to what it may look ilke when I'm done "Cleaning" it!

If you have visible dust in your images, then clean your sensor. If not, then why bother?

You can get it darn close to spotless. The longer you wait, the more likely that you will have something sticky on there that is hard to get off. I use a hand blower on mine prior to the wet cleaning in case there is something abrasive on there.
