...Police arrived on the scene to find the entire family unconscious. Each had been fitted with a BreatheRight strip. Investigators on the scene followed the trail of luminescent wrappers to Mr. Bayou's bed. "He was just lying there with a big smile on his face," said Detective Trip Turner, "I don't think he understands the impact of his actions." Upon resuscitating the unconscious man's family, each awoke with a start and began clawing at the strips on their noses. Turner says "In 15 years, I've never heard of anyone doing this to their wife and children. He apparently did this to them without their permission or knowledge."...

DYK, barracudas have a second jaw at the start of their throat that can reach forward into their mouth to pull food backwards. Just like in aliens. How cool is that.

Don't think they have the acid blood though, although that wasn't mentioned so who knows, maybe.

Is this barracudas, or moray eels, or both? I just saw this in the paper this weekend as well. Not sure why it took so long, just dissect one. Said they used high speed video to capture it

Apparently they knew about the second jaw thing, they just didn't know it could reach forward and spit acid blood.

Oh no, wait, acid blood was the aliens again. And you are right about it being moray eels, guess I got too excited about something that cool and remembered the article a little wrong.

Is this barracudas, or moray eels, or both? ...
One of the scariest experiences in my life happened in the Bahamas. I was diving just off Pelican Island, which was nothing more than a patch of sand with a few palm trees on it. I dropped off the back of the boat into maybe 30~40 feet of water right in the middle of a school of barracuda, hundreds, as far as I could see. Well, the all turned to take a peak that the fresh piece of bait that dropped on and i swear, they were all licking their chops. I don’t know about the double jaw thing, as i pretty much levitated back into the boat, but they all looked as if one jaw would do the job just fine. :)

Not directed at you in particular, but people need to understand that there's a difference between facts that these companies and the textbooks tell you, and all the facts. Too many companies, obviously, leave out what isn't ideal for their reputation. It isn't that it's not the truth...it's just that it's not the whole truth.

People also need to understand that most doctors and drug companies are in no way interested in keeping you healthy. Their interests depend on you staying sick. It's just good business.DYK every tyrannical dictator has his own set of facts? Not all facts equal truths. Trust in reliable sources.

Ok, hold on to your shorts. Here is my BIGGEST DID YOU KNOW. As far as I know this information exists NO WHERE ELSE on the entire Internet. So when you hear about it ANYWHERE else from this point forward; when you repeat this story to your children and grandchildren; you can say "BillsBayou discovered the wierdest most useless bit of info on the PLANET."

Now that I have your attention...

Opening a BreathRight strip's individually wrapped envelope will cause the glue to GLOW BLUE! This also works for the individually wrapped envelopes containing BandAid bandages. The light is faint and can only be viewed in very dark rooms.

I discovered this while opening an individually wrapped BreathRight strip IN THE DARK. This is the sort of product you'd open in the dark. I opened the individually wrapped product by quickly pulling on the two halves of the paper envelope. As the two halves separate, the glue gives off a faint blue light. The light can be seen at the seam where the papers are separating. The harder you pull, the brighter the light.

You read it here first. You will NOT forget this day.Sounds like static electricity from opening the wrap, don't try that in a methane producing environment... "Hold on to your shorts" indeed!

Honestly, I never heard that before.

Any state flag may be flown at the same height as the U.S. Flag.

I always chucke when I read that somewhere or hear someone (usually a Texan) proudly proclaim that.

But I am a born-again Texan, so I understand...:)

"The space shuttle, discovery, travels at speeds up to 17,00 MPH, over 300 times the speed limit."

I think that number should read 17,000 mph.

Your signature reminds me of this story of Einstein...

One interesting anecdote, told by Otto Neugebauer, a historian of science, goes like this:
As he was a late talker, his parents were worried. At last, at the supper table one night, he broke his silence to say, "The soup is too hot." Greatly relieved, his parents asked why he had never said a word before. Albert replied, "Because up to now everything was in order."

His first words were a complete and cognitive sentence... I think I heard 6 as the age he began speaking when I first heard this story, but I have not found a quotable source for that part. What I'm finding ranges from 3 to 9.

Did you know......* On a Canadian two dollar bill, the flag flying over the Parliament Building is an American flag.

Nope, it is not American. (http://www.snopes.com/business/money/redensign.asp)

::Sigh::...do people from Tejas still believe this to be true? :p

While were on the subject

State flag can not be higher, but it can certainly be the same height,..
BUT the US flag would then need to be the left most flag from the viewers perspective, or "to the flags own right" as the code states.

For theatre folks the US flag if the same height as any other must be Stage Right :)

Likewise, the Stars are always to the left from the viewed perspective (stage right)

You can center the US flag in a group if it is taller than the others.

But one should not do this when it is displayed with other national flags. In that case they all need to be the same height, but on US soil the US flag is left most (stage right again)
