I know that DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) is ostensibly an in-camera facility to select images for printing. As almost of all us post-process our images before printing, this facility is essentially useless.

Does anyone know if Photoshop or some other program can generate a DPOF? This would save a lot of time at kiosk.

I don't think creating files for DPOF is included in Photoshop CS, and if anyone made a plug-in to make it work...

Here is the official DPOF spec website (by Panasonic): http://panasonic.jp/dc/dpof_110/
You won't find the full spec there, because you need a license to get the full specification: "A LICENSING AGREEMENT IS REQUIRED to receive the DPOF full Specification and introduce DPOF Products. For further information and license, please send an E-mail to the following address with Your Name, Company Name, Address, Telephone number, Fax number and Email Address."

I had found that spec, too. So far, I have found noone that has implemented DPOF support outside of a camera. The fact that the spec must be licensed is probably to blame. It seems like DPOF could be much more useful, but I guess the member companies are hoping that it sells their cameras. I can't imagine any but the most novice users who don't post-process use it.

Sigh. Thanks for the reply.

I was searching for the same solution and couldn't find any. The only way I find that may does the job is to manually manipulate DPOF files. i.e. Generate 1 in the camera, and then edit it manually which is awkward.

If any1 of you guys find something please let us know.

Thanx
