Posted this on the post processing board but thought I might get more response over here
What if anything do you do to protect your prints? I print on a Canon i960 and the ones I would like to keep (or when I remembr) I spray with a Krylon UV-Resistant clear acrylic coating. was wondering if anyone did the same or what they might use.

Check my reply with your initial post.
BTW, multiple section posting is generally frowned upon.

I use those acid-free archival sheet protectors...but I guess that is a more of a storage thing. Does the spray go on pretty evenly? Is the final outcome unnoticeable to the viewer?

I know just wasn't sure where this would best be suited.

I just took a print outside and shot it with the Print Shield. My conclusions:
1. Mist is finer than typical for spray can, so application very easy and uniform.
2. Paper looks coated, as you would expect from a misted application vs. a flooded application. It appears as a mild matte finish vs. the semi gloss of the original sample. For my needs, and intended use, this is entirely acceptable.
3. Treated print is much less prone to finger prints than original.
4. Water test....1/2" diameter puddle of water allowed to sit on print for 1 minute. Blotted up and wiped clean with paper towel. No noticable impact to treated print. Absolutely no ink transfer to paper towel.

that stuff sounds great, the Krylon UV-Resistant clear acrylic that I use (on photo glossy) does leave a feel to it but it didn't seem to dull the image down that much maybe gives it a little satin look but not matte. I haven't given it the old water test yet so I don't know how it'll stand up to that and I'm not sure how you'd know if the UV blocking is really working
