The parity question - parity is used as a basic form of crc (cyclic redundancy check) I am a little confused why you would want a Parity bit, we are not transferring any data here, unless your asking if the resultant has an odd or even sum of of digits?.
Odd/even parity in which case the answer is plain, count the digits yourself.
Unless you have not made your question too clear, or I am not reading it correctly.
I wonder if he was thinking about the Borrow bit.
The Parity bit - keeping track of odd/even number of bits - would be affected by the total number of digits in the number, i.e. how many bits away the sign bit is.
The danger about being too tricky is that the result may be an involuntary trick question.

no no... this is nerd play, in nerd wars routers and computers get fried ;)
But a serious statement for once, without the nerds/geeks etc, you would all still be shooting film.
I don't play many games on the computer anymore, I spend more time making them now. More fun less attitudes, so in some ways your comment could be valid belmondo.

Otherwise what does the ' denote in ya'll? Makes no sense.

Ya'll is a nitpicker.;)
I'd suggest "y'all are" or "you are"**
Y'all always refers to the plural you. To refer to an individual as "y'all" is only appropriate if said individual has been accurately diagnosed with multiple personality disorder. (of course, an online forum may be an exception)
Looking at the proof notation linked we can see that y'all is, indeed, correct while ya'all is a regional adaptation accepted among certain dialects:
"“How y’all doin’?” If you are rendering this common Southernism in print, be careful where you place the apostrophe, which stands for the second and third letters in “you.” Note that “y’all” stands for “you all” and is properly a plural form, though many southern speakers treat it as a singular form and resort to “all y’all” for the plural."
Thus, (nitpickily hehe) I must point out that, y'all will suffice for plural you all, regardless of how many or how far. ;)
** Other alternatives might be you's -- (you is-- "You's a nitpicker) or youse (if of the yankee persuasion- although, I believe this may most legitimately refer to the plural you. Yankee grammar is challenging )
;);););)

The lady is correct...listen up :D
ya'll
The correct spelling for the commonly misspelled word, y'all. The word originates in the south-eastern United States and is a contraction formed from the words 'ya' and 'all,' the 'ya' being the short-form of you. The apostrophe is placed after the a because in contractions, letters are removed from the second word, and thus, y'all is gramatically incorrect, leaving ya'll as the proper method of spelling the word.
Examples:
Will ya'll quiet down for a moment please?
I'll see ya'll later.

There is a constant battle between the nerds/geeks and the "beautiful people" (self called). When young, the beautiful people, mostly jocks and cheerleader types, love to bash the nerds and geeks (sometimes physically).
It is the nerds and geeks who have the last laugh, however. Not only do they keep everything running in the modern technological world, they also own the banks that hold the mortgages on the car dealerships and restauraunts "owned" by the ex-jocks, etc.
If anyone needs a reason to be proud of being a geek, they need look no farther than a good pictorial dictionary. Look up "geek," and there's Bill Gates picture. Look up "rich," and there's Bill Gates picture. Look up "powerful," and there's Bill Gates picture.
Where are the pictures of the "beautiful people" who used to put down Bill Gates in high school? You'll find them under "loser" and "destitute."

In my mind, the biggest problem with POTN these days is the volume of people who think about themselves and not much else. We are supposed to be here to help and be kind to one another. There should be a new rule in the photo sharing sections. You cannot post a new image until you have viewed and commented on at least five others. The most deflation thing (am I the only one who feels this way) is to post a photo your pround of and have it dissapear to page two with 15 views and no comments. Pretty deflating

It may be kinda difficult to impliment that unless the software allows it and I am unaware if it does....however that is a very excellent idea cause Lord knows I have had many photo posts that get buried to page 2 and beyond...sometimes with well over 100 views and not one comment.

Pretty deflating Nope, your not the only one by far, but commenting on pics is a hard thing for me to do. Though I do comment on quite a few especially in the Macro area. I find that the pics that are simply outstanding and all I can do is ohh and ahh.. are easiest to comment on, but I'm sure my comment is not helpful except to the ego of the photog. The ones that need help the most I just feel as I am not really qualified to comment on even though I may see something that could help. I mean I do take pics as part of my job and I do make a few bucks here and there but I don't consider myself a pro by any means and most of the time my pics need more help that the one I'm supposed to be commenting on. It's a hard thing to overcome.

Alas, I'm not good enough to give real constructive critizism. I can tell if I like an image, or if I think an image is too dark but but I'm totally unable to say why I like an image - and I can't for my life look at any of my own images and see exactly what I should have changed to make me like it.

It happens to a lot of people. It is both a psychological problem and resulting from the editor not being wysiwyg without the use of the preview button.
It is interesting that when relaxing after having pressed the submit button, our brain is a lot better at finding errors while we idle and wait for the system to be ready. Before we press submit, we suffer from tunnel vision while trying to explicitly scan the text for errors. While "idling" our brain switches from scanning the text line-by-line and instead looks at is as a bigger picture, and our brains are so very good at detecting patterns in pictures. Anyone seen "A beautiful mind"?

There should be a new rule in the photo sharing sections. You cannot post a new image until you have viewed and commented on at least five others. The most deflation thing (am I the only one who feels this way) is to post a photo your pround of and have it dissapear to page two with 15 views and no comments. Pretty deflating
Disagree completely. If your happiness depends on the comments of others, then you really are not looking for real feedback. Sometimes no news is good news.

On a polite forum (and POTN tend to be quite polite compared to a lot of other forums I have visited), then silence may be thought of as if the picture is so bad that people don't dare to bring the bad news.

Or it may be though of as the picture is so good that the C&C fanatics can't cut you down.
Kind of a half-full/half-empty sort of thing.
An optimist believes we live in the best of all possible world. A pessimist fears this is true.

Nah...I am not too big on ice cream. I have the most awful sweet tooth that I can only satify with milk. Lots and lots of milk. I can have packages of cookies sit in the pantry for days if I don't have milk.

Look at the content, not the style. If the content's good then how it's expressed isn't that important. Don't confuse bluntness with rudeness

Some people just take others who speak their mind as rude individuals, but thats their problem. Most of those people who are busy criticizing those that speak their mind are just bunch of sheep in a cubicle who have not seen a pay raise from day one, :) unlike those that are already got the corner window office with a killer view and a secretary, all because they could open their mouth and state what they were really thinking.

Half of me is sad that I'm too busy to properly join such a silly thread as this....while a third of me thinks I should make time....and yet another 1/6 of me wants to blow raspberries at anyone who bothers to react to posts made by the donkey-brained fools who are (without doubt) overly rude and arrogant in POTN, because that's people for you.
And if you don't know that, you shouldn't bother with online forums.

Yukkkk makes you want to vomit @ some of those people. You hardly ever see honesty on there. Some of those people and their photos are far, far, far, far away from even being in the category of models or good photography. But according to Jane Doe model number #6969696969: "omg what an awesome port" ......
