 Well, I'd at least like to remain a female. ;)

Seriously, to someone who would have the authority to do so, can I change my screen name to something else?

Thanks,
Karen

To what FearfullFoto
Sorry, but I just don't understand why people don't use there real names. You can ask a moderator and they might change it for you.

The only ones that can do a name change are CyberDyneSystems and Pekka.

Is there some way to find posts searching by the original user name after a name change?

As an example, while the POTN Book was on its way to printing, 24Zero suddenly disappeared. I found his posts again because he changed to his real name, which I knew, but normally people changes from a nickname to another nickname.
What do we do if that is the case?

I’m almost sure that in a few days I will not find FearlessFoto searching for George’s posts :)

But then you'd have to start over on the "post count".

And it would be a violation of the rules.

I have sent 3 pm's in the last week to change my username. I know people are busy and have things to do rather than fix my mistake so I am being patient. I used autofill to fill in my email when I registered and didnt catch it filled the username area too. All im askin to do is drop the @polly dot net part. If that cant be done can I use George? As it is now, I know how to enlarge my unit as well as medicate too. This morning I have added a new friend on my paypal account and apparently inherited money in a foreign country. George is lookin real good about now!

Congratulations Karen!
Certainly, George would be easier to remember for most of the people in these forums. ( ).
I will never forget it though because AMDG are the starting letters of the ‘motto’ on four squares of my High School Coat of Arms.

I’m wondering if it is just a coincidence.

While my parents and older sisters lived in Quito, Ecuador, it was a bit before my time. What do the letters on your motto stand for?

They lived here! That is a coincidence!! By any chance were they part of HCJB the world-wide famous radio broadcast station?

I wrote my post just as an incidental commentary because of the letters AMDG although they are not directly related to Quito.

Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_maiorem_Dei_gloriam) (For the greater glory of God)

is the ‘motto’ coined by Ignatius of Loyola founder of the Society of Jesus, a religious order of the Roman Catholic Church that among other things regents Universities and High School institutions all over the world.

I must say that my interest in these things is far more historical than religious.

Yes, quite a coincidence! I'm aware that AMDG is not related to Quito specifically, I just thought it was interesting that you had asked and my parents *had* lived there. :) However, not related to the radio station. They lived there nearly 40 years ago.

My new name does mean Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam. I didn't think anyone would pick up on that.

The name was not a coincidence after all! I am sure many alumni from Loyola and other Jesuitical Universities and High Schools know about the ‘motto’.

40 years ago I had half completed my studies on electronics. Now there is a possibility that I met your family in the relatively small city of Quito of those years!...

I’m sorry I pushed your thread on name change to an almost private chat about nice coincidences. At least you got the change, thanks to Pekka.
