hi all,
I have an S30 camera. This is the first camera I have had that gives me more than point and shoot so I am slowly learning all the nuances involved with taking "real" pictures. I am having alot of fun experimenting with aperture, shutter speed, etc. but am having a difficult time grasping the concept of metering, what it does, how it helps, and how to use it. All I know for sure is that metering helps measure the amount of light in a frame. But then my camera is equipped with center-weighted, partial, and evaluative metering. Anybody have a clear way to explain this concept and perhaps have some examples of how this can help? I've read that this can be one of the most important things to use when taking photos and I want to utilize all the tools i have. Thanks
