Here a my first attempts at "macros". They were taken with a 18-55 kit lens on a Canon XT. Hope you like orange.

Nice shots,

On #3 and for future shots try to use center focus and aim for the eyes.

Stop this!! The kit lens is supposed to be crap!!! What are you doing?!?!? :D
Nice work, just focus on the eyes next time, as mentioned.

Very good shots for your first attempts, impressive, especially considering the setup. Love the skipper butterfly shots, they're pretty things. As others have said, get the eyes sharp, but other than that, good first attempts.
