I took this yesterday at Newark Internation Airport at about 5:30 pm while
it was raining. Pictures were pretty noisy, but that was the least of my problems this soggy day. The train is actually moving away.
Comments are appreciated.

I love the composition, but just cant help wishing it was a nice day when you took the photo. I guess its because the rain doesn't really add to the subject in the photo. Well, there is nothing you can do about the weather, so well done for making the most of the situation.

Rick,
Nice shot. Better weather would have been good. The subject doesn't match very well with a rainy day.
I assume the pixel noise is due to a higher than normal ISO setting. I didn't see any evidence of a long exposure time that might create the noise.
I recently bought a Canon PowerShot Pro 1. It has 4 ISO settings. 50, 100, 200, and 400. With respect to noise, the 200 and 400 settings are useless. Worse than the picture you posted. So why did Canon even bother to put "unusable" features on a $1,000 digital camera :?:
For comparison purposes, it would be interesting to know what camera, ISO setting, and shutter speed you used.
Thanks,

You know I kinda like it.... but then I'm into slightly melancholy pictures so you may wish to ignore me completely :)

I like it too. :) It makes me think I'd rather be in the train that outside. It looks like it may be cozy in there. :D

There's really no intended effect here because of the rain. There's no
conotation except what your eyes see and your heart feels. I would have taken that shot in any weather condition because it is a shot that simply is
there for the taking.

Rick,
Thanks for the EXIF info.
What is the camera? I'm guessing it's one of the digital SLR's with the 375mm focal length.
