took my 30D and my tamron 200-500 out to the beach today and tried my hand at surfing photos. let me know what you think. cheers.

I'm no surfing photography expert, but I have tried surfing -- nobody would argue I am an expert there, either.

Seems that the sun was at the back of your subject, leaving them dark in the shots. You captured the action well, but maybe some post-processing can lighten up the subject?

nice shots. are these crops or the full image? how far out was the break?

full image and i'd say the break was maybe 50-70 yards from where i was shooting.

Looks pretty good but without faces it's hard to have a strong surf image. What beach were you shooting on?
