Let's say my friend has some recent pics of Vin Diesel and/or Russel Crowe (sp?) which are less than a week old.

Some of the pics are of the celebrities in funny poses having fun and doing stupid jokes.

For how much would he be able to sell them? (approx of course)
And who'd be intrested in this stuff. Who to contact?

Pics are good quality. Not perfect 10D with controlled environment, but sharp and with good shutter speeds.

No idea, but you gonna post them here so we can have a look? :)

I'd start with ringing some of the celeb magazines or national tabliods and ask if they want to make you an offer for the pics.

i read an interesting article in the recent playboy about the paparrazi. it said how some photos got in the 6 figure range but it's all about who's hot right now or not. like the olsen twins have been in the tabloids alot, i'm sure if u got a juicy photo of them it would be worth alot, but a pic of vin or russel, probably not to much right now, unless it was really juicy.

I wouldn't post them. If they are to be sold the mag/whatever would probably want an exclusive. I'd think they'd be worth less - or even worthless - if they had been published elsewhere.

First stop: low brow then: high brow celeb periodicals.

Do it FAST! Contact them NOW. Next week will old news, and the price may be lower.

Go to the store, scoop up all the Enquirer type rags, then the People type mags. (Or alternatively, go to the library)

Get all the "contact" info you need, then find out what they require and what the image will net. The price they will pay will depend on impact of sales. The more copies they can sell just via the picture(s) the higher your price. They will offer you a price, you can then barter, or check with the next publisher.

Be concerned about rights. Does the publication return rights to the photographer or keep the rights (expect higher money if the photographer looses rights instead of retains them.) I would expect the publication would want rights remain with them for a month or so. That way they have exclusive use of the photo. If you want to sell it multiple times, they may still buy it, just so they don't get scooped.

Have fun! Inquiring photogs want to know...

So what should I be expecting? It's not scandalous pics or anything, some of them are just funny to look at, cause the guys look really out of the he-man character they portray in the movies.

I mean... what kind of price should I expect? 50 bucks? 200 bucks? 2-3 grands?

I've seen spider man movie and he got 200 bucks for super celeb pics... I'm too confused, cause I have no idea about the prices and nobody to ask.

You'd be suprised what tabloids can do with otherwise "not scandalis" photos

It's totally up to the publication on how much the photo is worth to them.

Spiderman is a movie which is not based on fact. $200 bucks is the price the writers thought would work best in the movie (for whatever reason.)
