My wife assists me when I do weddings. While I was going around shooting the guests at the reception, she had picked up my 30D with 28mm 1.8 attached and made the following shots. I was pretty impressed with them (and her). They will make nice detail shots int he album.

Both ISO 1000

I love the bouquet's reflection in the cake utensils! Gorgeous.

I like the shots but the starbursts are a bit much for me (personal preference I'm sure)..was it done it post processing or did you have a filter? But they are nice shots and will look good in an album, esp. as background shots.

Thanks for the nice comments.

Grace, the shots were done with a standard cross filter. Keep in mind that as photographers we see it alot, and it may seem cliche, but to the couple it will be a unique addition to their photo album. Like anything else, a little goes a long way. I doubt I'd give them many more that featured the same effect.

Nice. I may be alone in this, but I'd rotate the second so that the glasses are vertical, but like it otherwise.

Thanks, you're right.
