Hi there
I have owned an A80 for around 6 months. Now when I turn it on, the screen is black, it still has all the setting information but no image. If I put it in view mode the screen works but put it back in camera mode and I get the black screen. When I take a photo it takes nothing, even when loaded to the computer the image is black. The only way to get the screen on is to turn the camera on and off until it works. It is still under warranty but that means a return to Canon and no camera for a month or so. Has anyone else come across this problem and advise as to a fix
Many thanks
Paul

Try resetting the camera to defaults while in the movie mode. To do this, just have the cam turned on and set to the movie mode, then press and hold the MENU button. When the camera displays "Reset to defaults?", highlight OK and press the SET button. Next, turn the camera off, switch to a regular shooting mode, and turn on the camera. If this doesn't fix it, I think you're best off sending in to Canon Service.

Try pressing the DISP button. This will turn on the LIVE action imaging. Also, the REVIEW time may be set to zero, you can change it back to 2 seconds if you want.

When taking a photo, if you leave your finger on the release button (fully depressed) the image just taken will review until you release your finger.

I've had the live action imaging off by accident a few times too. Usually on purpose though (to save energy.)

there's probably a connector open from the ccd!

you might have bumped the camera and than it's jumps open sometimes.

normaly i would say get the camera's back cover of and close the connector! but yours is under warrenty so send it in and let canon do it!
