Hello,
I just got my G7 back from the Canon repair.
Well, they fixed the broken spring of the zoom lever. They did a good job there. BUT there's a new issue ....I noticed today that there's quite a big blurry black dot which appears visibly if you zoom in. That has never been the case before. This is pretty frustrating. Here's a sample picture where you can see the black dot on the lower right side:

I cleaned the lens....there's not one dustspot on it. What could I do now?
cheers,
Ben

It sure is dust inside the lens or over the sensor. Take it again to Canon to clean it.

well...thanks for your reply.
This is SOOOO frustrating. It took them 2 weeks to fix the zoom lever.
Now this.....

I understand you... :(

But it's Canon's fault and they wouldn't have to charge you for cleaning this....

Good luck!

somebody on another forum replied this:

"This is a known problem on the G7 and they will swap it out with a new lens mechanism along with a note that says "could not locate problem".
This isn't dust on the sensor or elsewhere - it seems to actually be dust getting inside the lens mechanism. At any rate, it's well documented at this point and I have had to do this myself."
