Yesterday I was hired to photograph the guys getting ready. There was only one awkward moment when I walked in one of the rooms and a groomsmen was just about to drop his pants. Overall it felt much more laid back in comparison to the bride getting ready photos. These are a few of my favs. C&C

Overall cool shots :) Could you put a bit of detail into the suits, and the right hand side of the face looks a bit bright in #5. My fav is #1, simple and classic :)

yes...this is a great shot of the groom. The first is a nice detail shot. I still need to figure out how to make my groomsmen-getting-ready shots more interesting.

Anyway, more importantly, how'd the pink hair go over? Any comments?

Well, I'll give you guys the pink hair update. The wedding I shot on Friday a guest from the wedding came up to me and asked where I got my pink hair color. This girl had about 5 different colors in her hair and several piercings. We chatted for a while but then I walked away and realized I was being grouped as a certain type of person. I'm a very organized and "put together" kind of women and I don't want to appear to be childish. I became clear to me at that moment that I might appear to be a punk kid with an attitude. This morning I dyed over everything with a mild red color. The pink shows just a little but its mostly masked by the red dye.

well I'm glad you didn't have anything negative and I suppose the most important part of it all is that you do whatever you want with your appearance based on your own decisions and no one else's opinion...guess that's true for us all.

Beautiful light in 1 & 5, and good B&W conversions! I'm sure they'll love these!

These are quite inspiring.

I still need to figure out how to make my groomsmen-getting-ready shots more interesting.

Same here. I've found difficulty getting much wow'ness out of the men's images. There's really not much we (as men) do when getting ready. I always envision photographing them just hanging out, but that doesn't happen either...because we (as men) tend to wait longer before starting to get ready, knowing we don't take long.

Yep the second groom's better, i'd prob add a bit of fill light as the ratio's a bit strong for my taste. Good though.

Good decision on the hair, probably wasn't a professional look.

Nice shots matey, agree with Tim in that the blacks do look a bit on the solid side but still very nice shots. Always a challenge getting nice contrasty black and white shots without making the blacks solid!

Sounds like a good decision on the hair front, shame because it did really suit yah but I do think its important to try and blend in as much as possible during a wedding when your the photographer.

These are 'cool' Opie! Definitely some great ideas 'under the pink' ;)

nice ones. groomsmen preps are pretty standard and similar. Putting ties on... maybe cufflinks. Fun fun fun. I don't find the blacks too solid on my monitor... did you post up some edited versions?

I like #1 and #4.

#2 and #3 would be better if #2-different expression on his face and #3-not looking at the camera and maybe fixing his cufflink while the other guy does his collar.
