First off get a decent blower (Giotto Rocket) and blow it off..
DO NOT blow on the sensor yourself. DO NOT use compressed air.
in the words of the Hitchikers Guide.. DO NOT panic! It's a fact of life with DSLRs.
If blower does not work you will have to consider some sort of wet cleaning... search here for copperhill technique.

Not much to add to Al's advice beyond staying calm...dust is a fact of life...it is easily dealt with...sensor cleaning is a quick and simple task that almost anyone but the most ham-fisted barbarian should be able to handle. Pick any one of the hundreds of sensor cleaning threads here and give it a read. Here is a sample...http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=302414&highlight=removing+sensor+dust
