would it worth it to replace a Sigma 70-300mm DL macro with the Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens??

Thanks!

Jeff

What do you mean - to replace ? For free ?
The IS can be very usefull for slower shutter speeds than the usual "1/focal length" rule permits ... The USM is also faster and quieter than the Sigma motor.

I don't thinkyou will see dramatic change in image quality due to the optics. However, you will probably find more keeper because IS helps handholding the lens a lot.

I'd have to agree with the above post. The 70-300 is not a good lens by any stretch of the imagination. I'd call it rubbish! I had one and it was well crap on the 10D. You need to upgrade to a Sigma EX/HSM or Canon L to really notice a difference, especially in the longer focal length department. There are options a plenty but $600 range is about the basement for price in the Sigma 50-500mm F5-6.3EX/HSM. Canon had the 70-200 F4L but I am not sure of the price. I recon it to be in the $700+ range. Then from there they go up dramatically in a hurry.
