I have a studio setup just the way I like it. I recently upgraded to a Canon Mark II Ds. I never really mess with the cd's that come with it. But I wanted to check out the remote shooting. I have a friend back in the states that says he uses it all the time. He has the subject on the stage then just from his computer shoots. I always just get behind the camera. But I have about 20 to 40 customers a day standing in the same spot and then I process. So it would be much easier for me to stay seated and just take the photo from the computer.
I am messing with it right now. It seems to work nice. But as I am writing this I would like to know is there a way to get a live view?
Does anyone use this much? I see it really working for me for the photos that I take in the studio. The position never changes and the subject is always standing in the same spot.

Live view is not possible with the 1Ds Mark II. Sorry. The best you can do is hit spacebar to take the picture, wait for it to pop up, then reposition your subject/camera or make adjustments as needed.

I *believe* that the new Canon 1D Mark III allows for a transmitted live view from camera to computer. The upcoming 1Ds Mark III should have the same function, at a bargain price of only $8,000-ish!

After seeing your avatar and gear list I can't help but wonder if some of your "customer's" are Iraqi or Afghan insurgents... :-)
