Hi everyone. I'm afraid I won't be frequenting these forums any longer  As I have stated before, I'm losing interest in photography. I just don't feel like taking the time to do it anymore... which really sucks, since I just got a new camera. The wife isn't happy with the money I've spend on it, and I know if I continue with it, I'll just keep spending, so I'm going to nip it now, while my interest is low.
I may take the occassional snapshot, and feel inclined to share, but that's probably about it. Those will probably be few, and far between. I thought of just disappearing, but that's not polite I guess, so this is my formal goodbye.
To those of you I've offended in my time here, I am really sorry. I know I can be a butthead sometimes  I hope I've made as many smile as scowl, and (here's a stretch) hope I've maybe inspired someone along the way.
You are a great bunch of people. Really. I won't address anyone individually, but thank you to all of the many knowledgable, and selfless members who always offer a reply, your wealth of information, and kind words to this community.
Curiousity being a part of human nature, I may check back to look at replies, but doubt I'll make any of my own. Good luck to everyone, with all of your goals. God bless.

Well, good luck to you, Chris. Feel free to drop in again some time so that we all know how you're doing.
And enjoy those more extreme activities while you are young. As you get older, your definition of extreme will begin to migrate. :)

Well, this is a bummer.
Chris:
You have a lot of talent, and it's a shame to see you let it get away. You're a lot of fun and a breath of fresh air. I hope you reconsider.
In the meantime, don't do anything dumb. Keep your gear, stay in touch, and let us know what you're doing. The desire will return, I'm sure.
Take care.

How can you lose interest in photography?
I am going to wait for that answer. :?

What Belmondo said, verbatim.
I'll miss ya, and I hope you stop in once in a while. And I *really* hope you post something now and again. But just hearing from you will be great.
And if you're ever near Boston and want to do some kayaking, well, you're on your own. I hate kayaks. But I'll buy you a beer. :)

Well that really is a bummer. I've seen people lose interrest in the forum for a while and show up again but never because they feel it's been a problem. :?
Don't lose your gallery, that way we can see what you are doing if anything. http://gallery.bytephoto.com/showgallery.php?ppuser=6

I'd say this is akin to Michael Jordan losing his interest in basketball. :( However, I know what it's like to no longer be interested in something that was once a large part of your life, so I can kind of see where you are coming from. Since you're not using it now, can I have your "eye"? :D Well, I certainly wish you the best, and don't be a complete stranger, if possible. :)
Take care.

Chris,
You got to do what you have to do. Good luck man and I really hope you do come back and be part of the forum again. Your work is inspiring and will be missed.
Do it the way you feel it should be done. Happiness in life.

I have to add that it appears to me that you possess natural talant - you find good pictures in otherwise ordinary places. You've got an eye for photography. Don't let it go to waste.
As you head off on your adventures, include photography from time to time. Capture the fun moments for future reference.
I expect to see y'all drop in every week or so with a photo of some sort or another.

Best of luck to you Chris. Your work here will be sadly missed. You have a real talent as has been pointed out by the many previous posts.

Chris, you are one of very few people that I know for whom photography is second nature. You've really got a good eye for it and you'll always have it in you even if you don't or won't have the time nor desire to get into it full time anymore.
Take care of yourself and please do drop in once in a while just to say hi and show us some of your "snap shots". You know what they say, "One man's snap shot is another man's art"! :D

Chris,
Give 'em hell in whatever you choose to do. Photography will miss you.
Perhaps our paths will cross in the 'hood - I hope I'll recognize you without a camera.
Have Fun,

Good luck! Sorry to hear that you lost interest.

Cya later, I wish you luck with your future endeavours.
Just do us all a favour, don't sell your stuff. We sometimes need time away from the things we like the most. I hope to see you back sometime in the future.
Good luck & Cheers.

Chris...
Having been around since you first joined the forum, I can say, as others have said above, that your images have been top notch! You have a lot of talent and an excellent eye. I know I speak for many when I say I am sorry to see you leave, but understand your decision. I know that for me, many times, my disinterest in a particular activity is only temporary, as I hope it is with you. Whatever happens in the long run, it has been a pleasure having you along for the ride over the last year, and I wish you (and your wife) the best of luck in everything that you do. Please stop in and say hello from time to time and favor us with an image or two!

Hopefully you wont loose the skill it seems youve worked so hard on... I currently feel the same way you described, but I still bring my camera everywhere I go "just in case" Maybe inspiration will hit me or Ill see that one shot
Good luck in the real world

Chris -
I was hoping you'd say "April Fools" or something like that as the last line in your post (even though it's the middle of July).
If you're losing interest, why not just take a few months off from photography? Come back later!

Its a bit of a shame. Are you as good at your hobbies as you are at photography? If yes, then it's not so bad, but if you answered no, I really think you are ignoring a real talent of yours. Do you even realise how good you are at this? We all really mean it when we say you have a good eye.
If your mind's already made up, then I wish you well, and hope you come back and share occassionally.

I'm sorry to hear that!
I hope I've made as many smile as scowl,
As you can see, we'll miss you. On the other hand, Summer is here & I've also been thinking that I'm spending way too much time here, too, so I can understand why you might feel that way.
Drop in occasionally & say "Hi"!

Tis a shame as I would add my name to the above list of people who kept an eye out for you posting up images. I suspect you will return to it. I have been taking picture for 30 years or so but circumstances have meant not always doing so regularly.

It's been a pleasure to occasionally catch a view of the world as seen through your camera.
Have fun doing other stuff. :D :D :D

Well I've only been alon for a few months, but:
1. Every photographer has his/her style, and yours is clearly distinct (which in my opinion makes a true artist).
2. Some of the words you dropped in some threads have inspired me.
Good luck to you.

You know I did a search of the boards to see what Laz has been up to lately. I thought that I may have been just missing your posts........I am sorry to find this post.
Yo man, you tried to pull this once before if I remember correctly......I know you are reading this. You are just trying to fake your own death to see if anyone cares.......I think I saw this on an episode of Gilliagan's Island. Thurston Howell 3rd faked his death to see if anyone cared
Go and get that restless spirit, ADD, or whatever it is that drives you, charge the batteries and go forth. Hey Phish is breaking up too, maybe they are looking for a lead singer.......Laz, the new front man for Phish.
What next........Don Ellis jaded with Infrared shots :?:
Well I have to end this rambling post.
Peace Chris.
