Is there any software that I can use to manipulate the exposure time of the 10D say past 30 seconds.
Thanks!

I don't think I understand your question. Manipulate in what way?

Likewise ... Not sure what you mean by "manipulate" the exposure time.
If you mean to leave the shutter open longer than the 30 seconds, you can get a remote cord.
The 1st one linked below you can set for the amount of time you want and is automatic (I'm assuming ??? ) and is on my wish list
The 2nd link is to another remote for the 10D but you have to release it when you have the exposure you want. That's the one I have and it works fine but, man, I have to pay attention ...

If, by chance, you're referring to using the "remote capture" program to operate the camera from a computer, then I'm not sure that the "bulb" setting works. I tried it and got a warning box on the screen saying that the action was "stopped by the camera". It may be set up that way for some reason.

I have the TC-80n3, and it does a lot. I have only used it as a shutter release, but it can be set to do a bunch of extra stuff. It's user manual is a thick one. That surprized me. You can use it to do things like 100 shots at 20 second intervals....etc...
Is this what you are talking about?

I edited the post to clarify my needs. I want to know if there is software that I can use to set the shutter speed past 30 seconds. This way I can use my laptop vs. the timer remote.

45R, I think that there might be software available to control the camera in Bulb mode, but I don't know for certain. You may want to check in with an astrophotography forum, as these folks are doing all kinds of things to get a long exposure.

Try the following URL for Canon 10D remote control software using USB port:

The BB software doesnt work for exposures past 30 seconds. Looks like the remote is the only way to do it.
