A couple of shots from this weekend in Colorado. This was a Junior Varsity game at 2:00 in the afternoon. Game eventually ended in a forfeiture due to one of the coaches getting red-carded for touching an opposing player and not having an assistant coach to carry on the match.

1) I think they would look better shot from a lower perspective.
2) I always try to work with the sun rather than against it. In this case it looks like that would mean shooting from the touchline (which I prefer not to - but that's just me) as confirmed by your second shot.
3) At that age group I think you should have some more intense action to show.

You shot these with a 10D.... well done. The first is the stronger of the images because of the emotion. The second works fine for a stock photo. Mid day light this time of year can be a challenge.... seems you worked it ok. Cheers.

Typically I do shoot from lower, but moving to capture action tends leave me standings. I understand I was shooting into the sun for the first shot, however I had to go where the action was.
Thanks for the comments. They are much appreciated.

10D? Yes, looking to upgrade to the 40D shortly. Thanks for looking!

Were you running around trying follow the action?
I generally park to the side of one of the goals and let the action come to me.

No, I parked on the side with the sun behind me for the first half, but the game was one sided so I move to the opposite end, thus capturing some shady faces.
