For those of you using light room I really need some online tutorials, presets, etc etc to get started. I opened up the program and I'm not sure where to start.

Scott Kelby. He will set you straight with a great book.

Then do a search on here for Victoria Bampton. Read all her posts/threads. She's a lightroom whiz.

When I first started lightroom it started this little tutorial. I just watched that and learned a heck of a lot from it... all I needed to get started and right into it. have you watched that?

There is some great stuff HERE (http://www.whibalhost.com/_Tutorials/Photoshop_LR/02/index.html) if you have the time to watch them.
And I second the suggestion for the Scott Kelby book.

Before you buy any books I would suggest your library. I checked out Scott Kelby's lightroom book. I don't know if I am going to buy it. I might just check it out again.

MrsOpie - if you have iTunes, search for "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Killer Tips" in the iTunes Music Store under "Podcasts". It's a series of video podcasts by Matt Kloskowski, they're absolutely amazing!

I also recommend the Scott Kelby book. I bought it the day after I bought Lightroom and it was a tremendous help.

I just dove right in! Seriously.

I purchased Martin Evening's book when it first came out, but I think I read the first chapter and that was it.

I found that once I memorised most of the keyboard shortcut things became easy! I like the way you can do the whole flow right through to web gallery in the same window. Speeds up the workflow no end!

I really love the library and being able to pick my keepers very fast and to compare with the click of a button. Once I get into the development stage I feel kind of overwhelmed but I've decided to do basic RAW adjustments and then batch them out as jpgs and finish with a batch process of a few Kubota actions in photoshop. Then I'll have the complete wedding done in just a few days instead of a month.
