Took these near the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. I personally have not witnessed herds of bull elk with no females before. These were my favorite two. Please give me your input, I am new to this and am trying to improve so all suggestions are very welcome.

I preferred #2 - I like the symmetry that you have going on. There isn't really enough in #1 to hold my interest. Perhaps you could have tried it with something in the foreground as well.

I agree #2 the better of the two. The elk in the first shot is just too small a portion of the overall picture, while in #2 you've got interest across the shot because of the group.
for one elk need to get closer or longer lense. also the field is kind of dull and uninteresting.

Waayyyy toooo centered on the first pic. The best way for the that pic is to have the elk on the very far right or left , and have the vastness of the prairie to whatever side.

Also the horizon is in the direct middle, same for the second pic. I do applaud both scenes, great colors.

I like the second one better as well it just seems more balancing. God I wish I had an SLR and a long lens that day. Thinks for the input I am just learning so everything helps
