I had a chance to try out a REAL SLR for the first time in my life over the Labor weekend and was absolutely blew off by the quality and speed of it ( I tried out Rebel XTi....) ... I own only Powershot G6 which now does not look so exciting to me... I've spent so much money for filters and converter lenses for it and extra batteries where I should have listened to you guys and invest in SLR! :((( Does this ever happen to any of you? So what do I do now? Is it even possible to sell my gently used G6? With all accessories and SCRAP some money for simple Rebel XTi Kit ( going for $599 )?

You have been bit by the bug, you never knew those things are fatal did you? You will now sell your G6 (of course its possible to sell, for how much i know not). Then you will by an Xti and probally a kit lens or two. In about 2 months (or even less if you play with an L bug and get bit again) and you will yearn for a better lens. In about a year or two all your funds will be going to canon (and other members in the buy/sell forum). You will also lose your house and custody of your children. But at the end of the day while you are sitting in your cardboard box with only your camera and lenses (some people like thomascanty like a dog as well), listening to the gentle patter of raindrops hitting your new home, you will think to yourself that it was all worth it. Congratulations! :D

You can do what Izak mentioned above....or keep the G6 for a p&s situation and take the XTi to events/functions which you know you would benefit from its use.

Well... I've heard from many people that they keep their G6 for point N shoot- but wouldn't you agree that it is not really point and shoot, more likely point, wait and then shoot after your perfect shot is gone! :)))) Plus, I've heard rumors from people around this forum, they tend not to use their PnS anymore, since XTi is not THAT huge to carry around! ;) Well, that depends on lenses of course, but I already have huge flash mounted to my G6 and wide angel converter lens.. :))) XTi seemed more balanced and comfortably to me.. :)))
I just wish I would not invest in all staff for G6..
