There is no doubt that I'm in "L"ove with my new 70-200L f/2.8 lens...

I didn't do any post processing on this shot yet...I'm hoping that the weather this weekend doesn't keep me from shooting more shots...I'm in awe with regards to the bokeh produced with this lens! I was skeptical with regards to the "L" series, but now I am convinced it's all about the L series!

Thanks, please don't be jealous, that wasn't my intent. I was at one time jealous of everyone in this forum who had this lens, and other L lenses, but I saved my money and convinced myself, and the family, that getting this lens is an investment for many years to come!

I know this is the flagship zoom in the Canon lineup, and I'm thrilled to own one. Unfortunately, I've yet to take a good picture with it and haven't even bothered to put it on the Mk II yet. I'm reasonably sure the problems lie with me and not with the lens, but I'm still a long way from proclaiming it as my favorite. I guess I'll have to give it another try, this time on the Mk II.

I can take it off of your hands. It will make traveling with your gear so much easier and lighter. Let me know your price.

Congrats on your new great lens!

I had a hard time to make up my mind which one i should get. The 70-200 / f2.8 L IS USM or the 100-400 /f4.5-5.6 L IS USM. :)
Since i do quite often need the reach  i ordered the latter. Should receive it in the next few days. But sometime later, i am definitly also getting the 70-200 / f2.8 L IS USM :P

By the way shot this one with my Canon 28-135 IS USM

i want one of these too :(

by budget is depleted...Basic photo class forced me into getting a 35mm SLR so I got a nice one like the geek that I am, had to have ALL the features + each homework assignment runs us about $20 total...its a freakin expensive course

I've recently purchased that lens as well and it ROCKS! Hands down my best and favorite lens! Well until I get the 24-70L!!!!! Coolest thing is when I'm working and just snapping pic to document the show and I have a better lens then the paid photograpers!

LOL diesel girl

The whole thing is getting close to rediculous :D

The bokeh is so blurred, it's one smooth colour throughout, without gradations.

jk of course. That's a nice lens

No grip yet, but I have it rested on a Monopod for better balance :)

That lens is awesome as well! I have one and that is what is on the 10D the most. Next is the beast (120-300mm F2.8EX) and then the 16-35mm F2.8L. With that combo you will be set from 24-200mm and then you can get the 16-35 for the 8 extra mm, or the 100-400 for the extra 200mm. My bet is on the 100-400.

I'm out of town next week but am placing the order to arrive the following. I borrowed my neighbors 70-200mm 2.8 L (non IS) and fell in love with it. I'm going with the IS based on some reading and discussions in forums. I also borrowed is 24-70mm, it's on my list as well as the 17-35 L

Looking forward to putting it threw it's paces!

time for a new bag to go with it so I'm returning to the forum to find the recent discussions on bags.

I love this forum!

Very nice shot I must say!

Thanks a lot SENster7!

Glad you like the pic. The 28-135 IS USM is a very nice lens :) (not an "L" of course  ) but i did shoot many nice photos with it :D . I sold my 75-300 IS USM a few days ago. 8) Not a bad lens although not realy the one i wanted to keep any longer. So as you already know,i´m going "L" as many others here did  :D :D :D

Waiting for my new 100-400 IS USM :!: :!: :!:

Does 28-135 IS have a metal or plastic body?
