... at a total of about 200 people. The couple wasnt quite as loose and wild as the couple last weekend, but they were just as sweet and handsome.

Lord Malone assisted me in this wedding (cant risk going into labor without backup ;) ) I am sure he will be posting some of his pics soon

I put a quick ShowitWeb Slide together with more images www.forever-yesterday.com/slideshows/2007/KemmeryWedding/

And yeah, I still love that chocolate action, haha

Jenni, those are amazing! I love the whole series. The altar shot is really nice and the top of the building set, WOW. Very lucky to get those. The bride didn't seem very shy about her getting ready pictures.;) And the wedding party was huge. Those weddings are always crazy, but rewarding. Everyone had fun, it looks like.

Really great shots! I like that "chocolate" action. My favorite image out of the whole set was #14... although not numbered, I counted down :D The image where the Bride is talking to the couple at a table. I love candid reception shots, and wish people would post more of them in these forums.

Hope LM posts his shots as well. I love to see the different shooting styles at the same wedding.

Good job. Best wishes for your soon to arrive child!

dress shots looking very strong! good use of dark curtains there! :D

not sure about the ear rings tho' seem to get lost with all the other details in the photo

looks like they chose a fantastic church! very nice shot of the bride and father walking down the isle :)

is that a flash unit apearing out of his head in the slap pic?

looks like everyone had a fantasic day, i bet they'll be very pleased with these :D

Lol, that is Lord's on camera flash. This was a moment that couldnt be posed, they were dancing and I happened to snap at the right moment. Trying to move so this wouldnt be there would have taken too much time. I love that shot anyway :)

Yeah it definitely is nice not to work by yourself

Monday wasnt helping me though, he was the booked videographer. But Ed was a big help

Ed is probably learning more from you than you know. Oh, I wish I lived closer to you guys. :(

Ummm - is there something you guys aren't telling us :lol:.

Very nice work! You captured some great moments, and I'm sure the bride will love them!

Now, tell me about the wedding day. Was it cloudy and overcast outside, or mostly bright and sunny? (there's a reason for this question).

I love the limo shot. Your candids are really great. Often times the candids catch people making strange faces but these are beautifully captured.

#9 is an absolutely outstanding capture. If I were them, I'd order a big print and hang it prominently.

#11 - Looks like you were short a few groomsmen?

#18 I would straighten to get the cake and the background upright. #11 could use a bit of straightening too.

OK - the reason I ask is because the only fault I can find is with your formals with the city in the background (and not too much fault there - 6 months ago and mine would have looked just like that)! Your posing is good and the exposure is solid on the subjects, but the cityscape in the background is completely overexposed and the sky is blown out white. Again, I delivered formals like these for years to very happy clients.

But recently, I've been shooting formals of this type more like landscapes than portraits (and I'm not talking the orientation here). What I mean by that, is that I now determine my exposure at the beginning of the formals by taking a landscape photo of the background as if that were my subject. In other words, I determine my background exposure as if the background was the photograph. Then I lock those settings into my camera in M mode, then I move the people in.

Now this means that the subjects in the foreground will be underexposed in most situations...this is where your flash comes in. If you switch your flash into M mode, a little distance scale comes up. Change the power settings on the flash until you find the setting where the distance on the flash scale matches the distance from your subjects and you will have the correct power setting for your formals.

Now just line people up and shoot them. Very easy and very consistent, and well worth the 5 minutes to get all of your settings right...

LOVE 8 and 9! I CAN'T STAND processional shots as the light is lousy and i swear people think they're running the 100 metre dash and RIP down the aisle!! arghh!! you did great!

Great job. I too am a fan of sepia, so I'm right there with you!!

excellent work.
Wow... 200 is large? I wish I worked in your area. 150 is small here. I've been to 800 person weddings.

These shots turned out fantastic, Jen! I'm pretty busy at the moment, but I'll try to post some of mine later this evening.

Me, Jen and "Monday" working together was like our own little POTN meet. Except we got paid for it.

Beautiful couple and church! I'm not sure how I feel about the dress shots. My eyes don't know where to look on #2, I kind of like #4, but wish there was less up top and more of the bottom of the dress. The black is a little disorienting, but it's interesting! I really like #5, 7 is cute, #9 is a good one of them, but I find the background distracts instead of adds to it. I'd like to see a fisheye shot of that church. ;) If it weren't for the look on her face, I wouldn't like 10, but she looks so happy. The pose is just awkward (I know you didn't pose them that way). What Jamie said for 11 & 12. #17 is a good capture, but 18 looks like a guest shot...the guys arm in the back, the placement of the pictures w/in the frame, and it's dark.

jamiewexler

You definitely had some flexibility in your exposure there. Keeping everything the same, but pulling the ISO down to 100-200 would probably have helped with the background. Also in the first one (the big group), it doesn't look the your flash had much effect (there's a bit of shadow in the eyes). Pulling down the ambient exposure would have pushed more light from your flash into the scene and helped with that.

Again, not trying to take away from the great job you did - just trying to help you with the next step.

wow I didnt realize I was on ISO 800 that explains a lot. I must have turned that wheel again without noticing.
