i know this wont be to everyone's taste but its a shot iv wanted for a long time right behind a jet when the afterburner is turned on .
i got my chance today :D

Oh my, but the second one is a belter !, bet it was a little warm and loud, when he let the fires !

about 2 years , although iv had a few goes at this before iv never being directly behind one untill today as you can never be sure were they will taxi too and your not aloud to clime on the fence Not that i did ;)

a intresting point about the first shot is that the heat haze is in front of the aircraft.
note the runway behind the jet
As the pilot got to his mark he had the engin running but cut the power for a few seconds.

i would say around 100/150yds and you could feel the warmth not hot by any means though
If only i could get through the fence :lol:
