Could someone explain what the advantage of this program is vs. the Digital Photo Professional that comes with the Mark II is. Is this program really worth the purchase price?

BreezeBrowser is a really easy program to use, and gives you the same quality conversions and tools as the Canon software. Download a trial version and see for yourself.

I did this, and I cannot see much of a difference between this and ZoomBrowser, maybe with the exception of application speed. I really like the layout of Breeze, though. Am I missing something?

Yes. BreezeBrowser is three solar systems ahead of ZoomBrowser.

Are you talking only about speed, or are there other advantages that I haven't picked up on yet (just downloaded the demo a few days ago)?

BreezeBrowser along with DownloaderPro speeds up the first phase of your workflow. DownloadPro will copy the images from the memory card/camera into custom labeled directories. It can split out different images types, e.g., RAW & JPG into separate directories. You can then quickly delete the losers, tag the winners and review the rest. It has a full suite of conversion utilities to convert from raw to an open standard while applying basic processing (gamma, levels, sharpness, etc.) As mentioed previously, BreezeBrowser is great to simply get your images into web pages using one of many templates or you can create your own custom templates. For the money, it's a great piece of software.

BB is much more robust than ZB. The UI is much easier to use and you can batch many jobs. Creating galleries with watermarks on your photos is a (ahem) breeze. It does much more than just convert RAW files.

It is BB's user freaindliness that makes it stand above the Canon utility.. so you allready discovered the advantage.. that and the speed.. and there are more options.
