It seems that most pictures taken with the PowerShot S30 have a slight magenta cast. I notice it clearly in outdoors/sunny and overcast shots, so I think it's something to do with the way the camera interprets color. Also some reviews mention it.
Is there a way to fix this during conversion or must it be done in post-post processing? It's a bit annoying to go through a standard workflow (download, cull & rotate, convert in 1-3ish batches depending on exposure issues) and still end up with pictures that don't quite look right.
I played with the white balance settings on the camera, and it seems that AWB seems to work best because 1. It seems to yield results as good as any of the presets, and 2. I would inevitably take pictures with the wrong WB if set to a preset.
There has been some discussion about color spaces for applications, and devices and synchronizing between them. Is this really necessary? Ie can I get realistic flesh tones and saturation with a consumer camera and software?
Thanks
