Your composition has much potential IMHO. Please tell a little about your equipment and efix data.

Thanks Zerah. I'll try & post the efix data when I get home later today.
I borrowed a friend's Tamron 80-210/4.5-5.6 AF to try on my DRebel. That was my 1st shot with that lens.
My cats really hate me right now.

Thanks.
I just took #2 into PS, upped the contrast/sharpness, & desaturated.
I just noticed I've taken over 700 pictures since I got the camera 13 days ago. That's like 55 shots a day. Glad I decided to go digital. :)

Good shot, nice black and white treatment.
It looks alittle noisey on my monitor, was it taken at a high ISO? If you want to try to get rid of the noise I would suggest trying out noiseware. It has been discussed here before and it is free.

I quite like the noise.

I agree but only in the black and white version. Which is why I prefixed my suggestion with "If you want to..." I think that the noise in the colour is abit much.

I see what you mean, and you are right.
I'll have to give that noiseware a whirl tonight.
Thanks

It is a really good free program, I can't remember if it does batch processing though. I would also like to recommend pixort, it is a great program that allows you to sort through alot of photos quickly and it is free.

Thanks again. With all of the pics & new software, I'm gonna need a bigger HD. :(

... and a dvd burner to make backup copies of all your photos. The key always lies in the rationalization ;-)
I just upgraded to a Rebel myself exactly one week ago, I love that camera. Good luck with your new camera and enjoy the forum, lots of good people here.

Nice shot man, I dig it. The noise is just a tab much for my taste, but the composition is excellent. You have IM?

My CDR will have to do for now. I NEED another lens first. :)
Hmmm... Which do I sell first to fund my new addiction:
Goalie Equipment, Golf Clubs, or Blood?

Golf clubs! Who wants to be a part of one of the few sports worse than baseball!!!!! ;-)
I know I started diggin though my old electronics draw and I am auctioning SCSI cards and KVM switches off to pay for a few accessories that I have already purchased. In fact I was talking to my girlfriend and I casually mentioned that she "would fetch a fair price on ebay, but I just wasn't sure how much it would cost to ship her." Then I said, "wait a minute cats are small... here kitty, kitty, kitty..." Luckily she has a good sense of humor and is enthusiastic about my new purchases.
The question I have is what could I sell to buy a 70-200 F2.8L IS or a 17-40L, I guess those are the lenses that I desire and are well out of my price range.

(Golf) I was trying to find another hobby after my hockey career ended, but I'm into the photography scene much more.
Those are well out of my range too. Nice to dream though. :)

#1 is very good. #2 leaves much to be desired.
The noise in #1 is great. I adds to the B&W pic. #2 seems like it was shot under tungsten lighting. I really dont like the orange tint.
Sometimes noise is good, so your pictures can be heard
that was extremely cheesy, but my old photo teacher used to say that.it makes no sense. but oh well.....

I love no. 1. The noise makes it look like a shot of a glamourous old-time movie star. This is one chic cat!

Number 1's the most novel use of noise in an image I've seen to date.
Great work.

Actually, #2 was part sun, part 60 watt bulb. I think the between the furniture, sunlight, & carpeting, gave it that orange tint.
I really like the pic.(#1) If I do say so myself. It was exactly what I imagined in my head before I snapped it.

Well, he is the primadonna of the house.
My other cat is a bit more of a loner.
I'm gonna need a 500mm to catch a good shot of him.
Thanks!

Nice shot and the B&W works better than the colour with the noise but it is maybe a tad too high. I would also clone out the second catchlight in the right eye, it a bit distracting.
