A friend of mine wants me to take some photos for her acting portfolio. Could anyone help me out by giving me some ideas on what to shot and what way? Maybe guide me to some tutorials on this sort of thing/portraits. Any help at all would be great :)

Thank you. Got a few things from there that I think will be of alot of help. Really nice photos you got there. I'll not be posting mine after seeing them. I would die of shame hehe
If anyone has anyother help I would still love to hear from you :)

id say from my first shoots experience, the things I failed to pay attention to were the BG and lighting, I spent too much time worrying about my camera and making sure the image was going to look ok, rather that what was going to be in the image. Just make yourself a mental checklist, dont rush taking pics, try to make the enviroment natural...sit down and talk first, talk during the shoot, dont make it all about the picture. Where I failed was in making anything look natural...
just try to let it flow...I was really nervous where I didnt know the model, and I did not want to mess up the image and look like I did not know how to use a camera. I got lucky, tomorrow I am meeting the model again, she needs some face shots for her portfolio, which I intended to do the first time...

Thanks a lot for all the advice that you've given, I am sure that it will be of great help. Hope the shoot goes/has gone well for you. I'll be sure to keep my eye on the other thread with the discussion about that with interest.

Years ago, I did Pam Dawber's first composite (as if anyone remembers her!)
She used 3 head shots to show different 'looks', + one full length to show her overall bodytype. It worked for her.

Pam Dawber! Man, you're telling on yourself now. I was a wee lad when she was on Mork & Mindy, but geez, I had the hots for her skinny ***

She was a corn-fed, midwestern cutie all right. And a very nice girl, too. Which was why I was drawn to her slightly slutty friend, Lillia...

...which did me no good either!
