Actually this isn't that kind of site. It's more of you ask the questions and we'll try to answer them rather than we all take turns spilling years and decades of experience and knowleage.
So feel free to ask all the Canon digital questions you can think of. Somebody will probably have an answer. There are some really good experts on answering questions about what kind of lens to buy as well. So be sure and include that in your questions.
Oh, and welcome to the site.

Take as many photos as humanly possible and when you have a question about something specific, ask.
:D
Glad to have you as a fellow member...

Hi, and welcome to the forum. :D
For starters, what equipment do you have, or are thinking about getting?
Do you have any particular type of photos you want to take?
Do you have any knowledge of basic photography?
If you answered; I dont know, or no to these questions, the first bit of advice I will offer is go to a book store and spend some time in the photography section. Another alternative might be to take a class on basic photography. You can even pick up some good info by lurking around this site.
The people here are pretty friendly, and willing to help as long as we have an idea of which way you're going. :D

Since she is already asleep and i cant seem to do the same i'll do this for her.
She has an AE-1 program with a 200mm canon zoom, a 50mm, and a 35mm lens. I also have a 28mm lens she could borrow.
She likes people pictures, my nature photos are interesting but bore her
She works in a photography studio, but hasnt spent the time to learn what the effects of a wide open lens has vs a stopped down lens.
I sent her here because she was bored and her interest in photography has aparently faded which suprised me. I figured you guys could help reenlighten her.

That is not a Canon EOS digital camera, is it?

Then lets hope we can help! If she's bored of photography, why not ask her to have a look through the shared photo section. She might see something that inspires her.

The basics of SLR photography are the same no matter where you go. The idea is to get her back into it and if she decides she actually does like it...then it's time to upgrade ;-).
Oh yeah, she also has a 300D with a 550EX and a couple of canon lenses
