Im a bit stuck here guys and im hoping what im trying to do is possible and someone can help me out.
What i want to do is batch save a load of my images with dimensions of 750pixels - 500pixels, a little bit of USM and add my signature to them at the bottom right hand corner through an Action i have created
The part that keeps bothering me is the adding the signature part. when i batch save a load of images some of them are fine and some the signature isnt were its supposed to be, (ie) its sometimes more in the centre of the image, which is obviously no good. I hope this makes sense. :D
im guessing its to do with the original dimension of the images before its reduced to 750 - 500 pixels.
this is what i want from my batched images instead of having to go through every image and add my signature.

Any help appreciated and i hope ive explained myself well enough

yeah i used to use mikes framer but i got a little bored with it to be honest mate. plus now i use simpleviewer i dont really need a frame/border as this is provided within simpleviewer.
Im currently adding a lot of new photos to my site and im not wanting to go through each and every image just to add a little signature, though i really want the siggy there. im sure theres a way to do it.
its doin my head in LOL

just a thought here, but what if you made a new transparent document in photoshop with the size of 750x500 put your signature on bottom right (or where ever) saved it as a .psd. Use your action but at the end put in something like this. file-place-...psd
This way it would be the exact same size as your target image and the sig would be in the same place everytime.

I'm sorry, i should have explained it better.
1. create a new document at the exact dimensions your target document is 750x500
2. make sure it has a transparent background
3. insert your sig. - so now you have a transparent document with your sig where ever you want it. it should be a white and gray grid along with a layer for your sig.
4. save it as a .psd
5. now open an image you want to perform your action on.
6. create a new action going through all the steps you already do minus the signature part
7. before you stop the action, go to file - place - and navigate to your .psd document with your signature.
8.it should insert that document right on top of your image as a smart object. you should not need to move it at all.
9. now you can stop the action and process away. :)
this is just one way that I do things like adding sigs to my photos, i'm sure there are other ways to do it. this is what works for me. I am sorry if this is not clear, I may be bad a explaining things. ;)
Good luck
Adam

its definetly to do with the original dimension of the image.
If i record an action and change the image size to 750 - 500pixels. that doesnt mean that every image will be exactly 750 - 500pixels if its been cropped etc when i run that particular action. so if i have the signature on the bottom right hand side of the image, if one of the images in that batch isnt 750 - 500 pixels EXACTLY then the signature will not be at the exact same spot everytime.
Oh the joy of processing :p
i bet i have confused some folk here
reading you explanation now buddy, hopefully it will make sense. :)

okay, this will only work for an image that is the same size as your target image. Unless there is a way to tell photoshop to move an object to a certain location.
Its more complicated than i originally had interpreted it, sorry

Hi,
I had the same problem before. What I did is making 2 actions. One for horizontal pic and the other for vertical pic.
If you layer your sig, do not use the align command for it won't be recorded into the action (maybe it can, but I don't know how), you have to manually move the sign layer to the location you like.
It works for me so far.
Basically here is what I do
1. Resize the image to your prefer measurement 750x500 (very important step, you have to make every pic you want to batch the same measurement and the same pixel per inch - resolution)
2. Open your signature file
3. Ctrl-A on your signature file
4. Ctrl-C on your signature file
5. Ctrl-W to close your signature file (you have to do it or it will messed up if you are doing batch)
6. Ctrl-V on your original file (basically cut and paste)
7. Move the signature layer (do not use the align tool, it doesn't work for me) to the location you want to place your sig
8. Flatten
9. Save-as.
10. Close
Again, I create separate actions for vertical and horizontal pic.
Hope it helps

I think the problem is that the images of different aspect ratio gives a different width/height. The watermark is still in the same distance from the top and left, but not the same distance from the bottom and right. Am I correct?
http://www.unlimitedimagehosting.com/images/74684982.gif
If that's the problem, what you need to do when you create your action is:
1. Ctrl+A to create selection of the canvas
2. Layer> Align Layer to Selection> Bottom Edges (Moves watermark to the bottom)
3. Layer> Align Layer to Selection> Right Edges (Moves watermark to right. Now the watermark is at bottom right.)
4. Filter> Other> Offset (moves it away from the very bottom right.

You're having an awesome qualifying so far....
We look like we might have turned the corner, but it's never comfortable.
Sorry I can't help with the Photoshop action though, but I can advise on any equipment buying. I love spending money - especially if it's not mine.

I would use a script. This way, you can specify the exact coordinates where you want to place your signature and it can detect whether the image is in portrait or landscape mode. Do you know any programming?

cheers Sblais.
I think thats what Bobster has done for me.
I made an action up for him and he tweaked it for me and it now runs the way i want it.
Big thanks to everyone for helping out, especially Bobster for spending the time to fix my action for me.
Cheers dude.
