My 5D has accumulated a number of annoying specks and some fiber in the view. I'm not sure where the offending stuff is. Can you help me with locating it and give me a safe method for removing it. I have tried the Rocket with no luck.

That is usually a sign of dust that has migrated to the top side of the focusing screen...removing the screen and blowing out the upper reaches is an option, but more often than not, it doesn't really help much...most people just ignore it...as it really doesn't harm anything...If it is super annoying...sending to Canon for a cleaning is probably your only real option.

Thank you for your reply. I have tried with the Rocket on the upper side, but no luck. I think your advice is good-ignore it until I can't any longer then send it to Canon.

There are tutorials online on how to remove the screen, its quite tedious. I've done it twice and really never want to do it again. The two cameras I cleaned with major amounts of dust on top of the screen have had their bodies blown out with compressed air. If you MUST blow out your bodies, use a rocket blower.
