well i was looking through old stuff and i found the picture below! as you can see its a picture of a picture from when i was in first grade. the picture has some defects in it and i need help on what should i do to fix it!

i know cropping is a must, but what should i do with colors. basically i want to restore this picture so i can print a bigger one. btw the picture is only like 1 inch by 1.5 inch!

iam going to attach the raw (its a diffrent pic but of the same thing).
here is the link to the raw file: http://www.mediafire.com/?ftojrvno2rx

ummm...can someone please point me to the button that says "editing is ok" or something like that?

thank you very much!

isnt that a negative (or transparency)? you should be able to find a local photo developing place that can scan in negatives for you. You will get alot better quality out of the image doing it that way....

actully that is a contact sheet image, probably done for ordering purposes. Not much will come of it but you can certainly try. First get closer and fill the frame.

IMO, the best thing to do would be to make it b/w.

The problem to begin with is that the scan is really poor. But working with what you've given us, this is what I can do. The highlights are blown out on his face, and of course the color balance is way off. My edit is perhaps a bit too warm, but this is the general direction you need to go:

Try to get the original negative...

It's a 35mm contact print. Too bad you didn't have the negative.

hey guys thanks for helping out! as for right now i like the warmer picture! i think ill make two versions, the one thats warmer and one the b/w. i like the coler of the warmer pic, but i also like how in the b/w pic it gives the effect that its a really old picture!

btw...what do you guys mean about contack print?

Romeo,
I'll send you the working version of the color image later. This posted version is not good to use.
